Jacobson (professor at Stanford) is a legend to us renewable energy people.   And paging through this makes it easy to see why.  Download a sample report from his list of energy plans for the top 139 countries on Earth.  Pick one at random and check out the arithmetic associated with lowered levelized cost of energy (LCOE), gains in efficiency, reduction in mortality and illness costs, and job growth.

Pretty compelling stuff, as long as your context is rationality.  Unfortunately, objective reasoning is a luxury that is falling in increasingly short supply right now, as our world economy is dominated by the fossil fuel interests that are determined to suppress the truth about their industry.
