The Cost of Mitigating Climate Change May Be a Considerable Burden to Our Children

The Cost of Mitigating Climate Change May Be a Considerable Burden to Our ChildrenAccording to this article, the projected cost to our children associated with repairing the climate change-inflicted damage to our planet is $8.8 trillion, which works out to somewhere between $125K and $180K per child in lifetime earnings.

But not to worry.  If elected, Donald Trump will remove all regulations on energy production, and provide $20 trillion in new jobs by renegotiating trade deals with China, in combination with other pieces of mumbo-jumbo.

The situation is completely under control.  Believe me.  🙂

  1. Frank Eggers says:

It’s wonderful that Donald Trump has the solution. I am so relieved!

Politics aside one of the arguments in favor of ignoring climate change was the “fear” that paying attention to something that “was not proven” could hurt the economy. It may be that the cost of ignoring climate change will prove to fundamentally unhinge the world economy and we could see, and may already be seeing, an unprecedented contraction on a global scale.

Those with steady salary jobs or a secure income generally don’t see the state of the economy as much as independent contractors. Among the latter group the word I constantly hear is that the economy has never recovered from the collapse of 2008 and has never improved from that time.
