What Top Republicans Are Saying

What Top Republicans Are SayingI know there are readers who think I’m off the beam when I call into question the mental health of U.S. President Trump.  Let me offer you this: high-ranking Republicans themselves are discussing this issue, i.e., Trump’s ’emotional maturity, and stability’.

There are new incidents happening virtually every day that are amplifying the volume of these conversations; the latest seems to be Trump’s continuing insistence that there was wide-spread voter fraud in the 2016 election, when:

• As recently as a month ago, his attorney’s attacked the idea that there was fraud (when there were calls for a recount)

• There is literally no evidence to suggest that this is true

• He’s being openly rebuked by his own party for spreading lies that suggest to the American people–and the people of the world–that the U.S. democracy is a sham

• He won the election, and is now the legally elected U.S. President, the most powerful person on the face of the planet.

This crescendo of insanity would be incredibly interesting to watch if it weren’t so terrifying.

    Craig,

Oh c’mon, I hate having to call you on this kind of claim. I don’t enjoy defending Trump, but if you condemn someone, I believe it should be fair.

It’s not surprise to discover the source of your information is an article in the Daily Koz.

The article which implied it was a report covering the opinions of the Watergate authors, Woodward and Bernstein was dishonest.

By only covering the comment made by Bernstein, the article implied by omission, Bob Woodward’s concurrence. In fact, Woodward emphatically disagreed !

Trump is entitled to claim his belief there was voter fraud and order an independent investigation. If he’s wrong, he’ll have to acknowledge his error.

Your assertion that no voter fraud occurs in US elections, begger’s belief ! Likewise your claim that mentioning voter fraud calls U.S. democracy a sham! The history of US of voter fraud is well documented.

In the 1982 Illinois Governor election US DoJ found over 10% of Chicago’s vote to be fraudulent!Over 100,000 fraudulent votes ! Sixty-three democrats were convicted of voter fraud.

In 1960 Fannin County, Texas had 4,895 registered voters, but 6,138 votes were cast, three-quarters of them for Kennedy. In one precinct of Angelia County, 86 people voted and the final tally was 147 for Kennedy, 24 for Nixon, in another where in one are area JFK managed to a win majority of 812 from only 213 registered voters!

In fact, it quite possible Nixon actually won the 1960 election !

These are just some of thousands of instances of voter fraud over the years, where the cry ” Vote early, and vote often” was a catch cry for Democrat ward bosses.

Government is a carefully woven fabric of showmanship, assumptions and expectations. We go into a courtroom and the judge sits on a high bench wearing robes. Laws are written and saved in codes and many documents with official seals and fancy letterheads. Through symbols and signs government and its agents are given a recognizable authority.

There is always a little corruption but what Trump is doing with the claim of widespread election fraud is destroying faith in the institution. When the law becomes suspect and institutions are torn down people will rely upon anyone who stands up and calls themselves a “leader.” By tearing down the institution of “fair elections” Trump is positioning himself to once again to declare the “truth” to be anything he says it is.

    Breath,

Call me cynical, but I wonder if you would be saying all this, if it was Hilary Clinton making the allegation ?
