Market Forces Move Against Coal

Market Forces Move Against CoalHere’s an article that outlines the reasons behind the rapid decline in the generation of electricity from coal-fired power plants.  As predicted, it’s the basic economics, i.e., the costs associated with running coal plants in competition against natural gas and increasingly, renewable energy.

It’s just another reminder of one of the great ironies of modern times: we’re on a course to clean up our environment based on pure market economics;  the whole process has very little to do with concern for the quality of life here on Earth.

Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good.
