Strange As It Seems, Unimaginable Cruelty and Sublime Enlightenment Coexist on One Tiny Planet

reevess_muntjac_1It’s a bizarre world in so many ways. At the very moment that the law-making institution in the most powerful country on Earth is crafting legislation designed to expand the suffering of the common American for the benefit of the country’s wealthiest people (check this out), we’re surrounded by people of such incredible intelligence and enlightenment that it’s difficult to believe that the two could exist at the same time, on the same chunk of rock floating through space.

I hope you’ll take a few minutes and enjoy this video that a friend just shared.

    Craig,

Deer are certainly beautiful creatures ! Delicious also when roasted with chestnut stuffing, or BBQed as Steaks.

Calm down, Australians and New Zealanders eat deer, which unfortunately very destructive introduced feral pests.

In the UK in 1272 my family was grated the right to harvest four royal deer per year in the local forest. However, since the last royal deer (along with the forest) disappeared in the late 16th century we have to queue up like every one else for farmed venison.

(one way to get rid of Robin Hood, just cut down the forest!)

I’ve never enjoyed hunting or considered much of a sport. If forced to cull animals, I try to render the carcasses edible and distribute the food to the needy.
