Private Sector Not Waiting for a Push from Government To Adopt Renewable Energy

27067197_1732837463407468_3528355250454860121_nDepending on whom you ask, corporations generally can have a pretty nasty reputation when it comes to environmental stewardship.  And while no one doubts that this is well deserved in many cases, we tend to overlook the incredibly broad and powerful sustainability initiatives that big business has put in place over the last decade or so.

Perhaps the best and most consistent example of this is the adoption of clean energy; as shown here, many Fortune-sized companies are doing all they can to power their operations with renewables.  (GP = “green power”)

    Craig – curious, do the amounts over 100% represent a net contribution of power to the grid by those firms?

    Also, curious what percent for each company is generated onsite vs. traded RE credits?

      Yes to the first question. I don’t think RE credits are taking into consideration, but I could be wrong.
