Climate Change Means Wildlife Is On the Run

reevess_muntjac_1If you live in North America and wish to keep a constant temperature, you need to move north an average of 600 meters per year. Of course, no one does this, since the increase in temperatures that happen in the course of a year are totally inconsequential, and for humans and our domesticated animals, moving our homes is a big deal.

Not so for the remainder of the animal kingdom. Everything from bears to chipmunks, herons to swallows, turtles, frogs and fish has a great deal of latitude as to where it makes its home.  And since every single one of these creatures is being affected by climate change, not a single one is staying put.
