Minimizing the Damage That Is Donald Trump

49288376_968150186708881_8776685289063055360_n (1)There will come a time at which I’m no longer on this planet and this whole insanity that is the present-day United States is put back in order.  (Actually, the former is a certainty, while the latter is speculation.)

In any case, I will leave behind loved ones and many acquaintances, some close, some distant, and it is my desire to let them know what stance I took with Trump, and that I worked hard to keep the damage to a minimum.

Evidently Mark Hamill feels the same.

Now, let’s be clear.  Trump is not the cause of the insanity, but rather the result.  Removing Trump, while most Americans would love to see it, will not eradicate the combination of anger, fear, and ignorance that brought this sociopath to power.  The anger and the fear are a function of the racism Trump exploited that was here long before he was even born, and the stagnant/declining wages in real dollars of the common white American; the ignorance is at least in part the result of an educational system that is circling the drain for myriad reasons.

But the very, very first thing we must do is to complete the dozen+ investigations into Trump’s criminality, and to remove him if there is just cause.  Apparently, it’s imminent; we’ll see.

    Craig,

Yeah, let’s all listen to Mark Hamill, now there’s an actor who’s career is really going someplace!

Over the last two years you have maintained a non-stop torrent of abuse against the President personally.

You are unable to explain why you hate his policies or actions, certainly not offer any constructive or detailed alternatives.

Nor is your tirade truthful, accurate or have any basis in credible fact. I find that odd in a person who claims to be a advocate for scientific thinking. The abuse you level at the President has all the fervor of an old fashioned stump preacher, not a a person who prides themselves of being fair minded, or rational.

    Let’s examine your claims:

    1) “The President is unfit for office as he’s insane, a sociopath”.

What is the basis for this diagnosis ? To the Best of my knowledge you are not a board Certified Psychiatrist, nor have you had the opportunity of the quite lengthy and arduous task of examining the President in controlled access situations to make such a diagnosis.

    2) “The President is an anti-Semitic, racist”.

On what evidence ? This view is not shared by the millions of black Americans who voted for the President, not the increasing numbers of Hispanic voters who support his policies, certainly not among Orthodox where support for the President is more than 90%.

    3) Support for the President among “common white Americans” has remained solid, as for the first time in over thirty years blue collar employment has increased significantly as a result of the President’s policies and the domestic economy is finally growing among rural and blue collar workers.

    4) “most Americans want the President impeached and removed from office”.

Now that’s just a wishful lie, and you must know it’s untrue. Even if you accept the very dubious CNN poll at the height of the Mueller inquiry conducted among CNN viewers, it still never got beyond 41%. A Monmouth University poll found 41% of Americans think President Trump should be impeached and 53% disagree.

Even those results (which misreported the questioning answered by the respondents) don’t represent “most Americans”, the term, “most” implies a large majority, 70 or 80%.

So there’s another exaggeration, or deliberately disingenuous statement ! Hey, wait a minute, isn’t that exactly the same thing you’re always upbraiding the President about?

    maybe you should take less notice of a video games voice-over failed actor and Democrat aspirant, and pay more attention to the wisdom contained in Matthew 7:5 ;

“Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.” !

    Craig,

The problem with you being such an avowed “Never Trumper” is it makes you unable to objectively assess other information.

Lee Smith, writing in The Federalist, espouse a long, well researched and heavily documented theory analyzing the possibility of a conspiracy between the Clinton campaign, media, US intelligence agencies, FBI, and Obama era administration officials to attack the Trump campaign and administration.

On the surface, the theory, like most conspiracy theories, sounds pretty far fetched. However, reading Lee Smith’s reasoning the theory gains credibility since as Smith maintains once started, the whole “Russian Collusion” story took on a life of it’s own, with no one in particular in control, rather becoming a sort of crusade.

The Collusion scandal took on a larger aspect as extraneous scandals, improprieties, and unrelated misdeeds by various Trump associates breathed new life into media speculation.

While I don’t necessarily agree with the authors conclusion, Lee Smith’s article is important, and should be read by anyone who is truly interested in gaining a comprehensive knowledge of the Russian Collusion Inquiry.

It does highlight the potential for an abuse of power by government agencies and the failure of the media to act as an objective watchdog, instead of being an eager participant.
