Below is the red hot video (four million views in its first 24 hours) that has a lot of people talking. Talk about polarizing! You’re really on one side or the other here.
In particular, you’re at liberty to believe that America is on the right track with its denial of science, legislation of ever-expanding wealth inequality, kinship to the world’s great dictators, tooth-and-nail dismantling of environmental progress, military aggression, and its embrace of Donald Trump as an honest representative of the common American’s interest. You’re also free to get on board with the core message of the video: accepting the findings of our scientists, coming together and working hard to protect civilization from the destruction of the biosphere, while rejecting the vast indifference we currently show to the suffering of others. (Btw, you can choose this option while recognizing that the so-called “Green New Deal” needs a great deal of tweaking before it’s in a workable form.)
I don’t want to present this as a false dichotomy, so I should admit that perhaps there is some middle ground, though I’m honestly not sure what that might look like.

A very well composed and impressive video, worthy of the sort of propaganda pioneered by Dr Goebbels and the twenties communists. (also Maison Avenue). .
But so are most inspired work of fantasy until closer examination reveals a web of subtle lies, distortions, assumptions/assertions misrepresented as facts, etc.
Beautifully, told with all the skill of a Sunday School morality play.

Unfortunately, it has as much real value as the earnestly expressed desire of a beauty pageant contests desire to “work for world peace”. The intention may be noble, but since the contestant has no ability to carry out her aspiration, completely pointless!
I liked the video as it’s certainly and excellent example of incorporating a wide range of cleverly interwoven propaganda deceptions, while remaining quite charming.
Hmmmm…., um,..Craig, I’m not sure how to put this,.. but you are aware Martin Sheen’s portrayal of President Jed Bartlet in the West Wing TV series, was just an idealized fictional character, aren’t you ?
