3D Printed Solar Cells

I’m not sure the concept on this video of 3D printed solar cells isn’t a total ruse, but I am sure it’s impractical in the extreme, as:

• The solar cells themselves are about 25% of the total system cost.

• They’re bound to be less efficient than those coming from conventional manufacturing.

• This won’t stand up well to storms.

• The unalterable issue with solar is surface area/incident sunlight; putting this on the roof of a skyscraper doesn’t get around that fact.

Ahhh…..no.
