Vacationing in Hawaii? Here’s a Hip Alternative

It’s shocking how little most Americans know about cities outside the U.S.  The Russian city of Arkhangel’sk has a population of more the 350,000, roughly the size of Anaheim, CA; New Orleans, LA; St. Paul, MN, and Cincinnati, OH…..yet I doubt that one person in a thousand here has ever heard of it; I certainly hadn’t.

Arkhangel’sk (see map), just south of the Arctic Circle, is in the news because its temperature last weekend hit 84° F, 29° C.  That’s the average temperature of Hawaii…. in the summer.
