Government’s Role in Protecting Us

65109341_452725915286555_3056411792847667200_nI voted Libertarian in a couple of elections in my early days, reasoning there is nothing government does more efficiently than the private sector.  I came to realize that private enterprise, run, as it is, for profit, does a terrible job at taking care of people and protecting them from harm.

Here’s a meme that says that very nicely.

This perspective has only been re-enforced by the experiences I’ve had since launching 2GreenEnergy 10 years ago.  Left to their own devices, most corporations in the manufacturing sector would pollute our environment far more aggressively than they’re doing today, under the (albeit gutted) regulations put forth by the EPA and other government institutions.

As soon as we can get corporate money out of politics, we can fashion a government that does right by the people it serves.

    Craig,

What you mean by “getting money out of politics”, is really just saying “get everyone who disagrees with me out of politics! “.

Elections for a nation of 330 million people, and the world biggest economy can’t be a representative democracy without all the diverse dynamics of society being represented.

Jeff Bezos,Warren Buffet and a multitude of billionaires flooded the 2016 election with money for Hillary Clinton. The entire mainstream media with one exception supported the Clinton campaign, and sill she lost.

Yet here you are, demanding the re-engineering of society and the electoral system so you can eliminate anyone who doesn’t hold your particular brand of political or social belief so you can force only your voice to be heard.

I suppose that’s understandable. It’s hard when you are forced to realize your fellow citizens don’t share your vision. It’s only natural you should want to make the fools fall in line.

There can’t be anything wrong with the way you see things eh? No, it must be “big money” deluding those poor, weak minded, deplorables. These poor wretches need the rules changing so only your voice can be heard.

Only the politburo can truly represent the masses (whether they like it or not) eh, comrade ?

Seriously, today you have a President who is truly backed by no “big money” contributors. A true populist hated by all the richest corporations and billionaires. He represents the blue collar workers more effectively than any politician in 60 years, and still you are unhappy!

President Trump is a living example of “being careful what you wish for” ! He’s the product of social media, a triumph of diversified politics.

Sometimes, you must just accept that if you write a song and it isn’t a hit, the answer isn’t to ban all other songs, but admit your disappointment, get over it, and write a better song !
