The Discussion on Lightbulb Efficiencies Will Not Cease

This conversation about lightbulb efficiencies was going on long before I came onto the environmental sustainable scene, and I’ve never understood the issue with mandating energy-savings technologies.  The only theory that could possible explain it goes like this: Somewhere in our great land, the Republicans have a secret warehouse of incandescent light bulbs that’s the size of Manhattan, and they want to ensure there is a continuing market for their product.

Crazy, the lifetime cost of ownership of LED is now so much lower than that of incandescent or fluorescent there’s really no longer any use case for anything else in general use situations. The only case I can see for incandescent lamps is to illuminate the inside of ovens – where the operating temperature is too high for LED.
