Wish He’d Die?

Wishing Trump would die?  You’re not alone.  How do I know?  Because I live with my wife, and this is one of our most frequent topics of conversation.

Having Trump die, via heart attack, assassination, or whatever would get us nowhere. Trump’s existence isn’t what’s in the process of ruining this formerly great nation.  Rather, it’s the process itself, i.e., a would-be monarch is twisting rule of law so that he can stay in power despite a crushing defeat in the presidential election.  Trump’s death doesn’t make it impossible for this perversion of law and justice to happen in the future; it probably actually increases its likelihood.

What needs to happen is:

Trump leaves office, preferably by force, using the power of law enforcement as assisted by the military.

He is charged with the various crimes that federal and state prosecutors are already working on.

Included in these charges is treason, and all those, Mike Pompeo and the rest are also charged with the same.

Trials are conducted and the guilty imprisoned.

Most Americans understand what has happened; they’re thrilled to see justice restored.

The Unites States again becomes a beacon of justice in the eyes of the world.

Biden and his team get a grip on the pandemic, resume a course towards environmental responsibility, quality education, working with allies to stabilize world democracies, etc., further enhancing America’s reputation internationally.
