Being Part of Politics

Urging people to get involved in politics has been around for a very long time.  As Plato put it: One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.

I’m not sure Americans need too much encouragement at this point.  You’re either a Trump supporter or you believe Trump is a criminal who should be imprisoned. Staying out of this conversation takes real work.

I suppose you have to give the man credit for staying at the forefront of our political discussions.  Of course, if the media would stop giving him coverage, he’d lose his relevance immediately. But that’s not going to happen, insofar as news is a for-profit industry whose monetary value is a function of the raw number of viewers/readers, and nothing attracts attention like a loud-mouth conman.
