Natural Resources Defense Council Protects the Environment

Here’s a blurb on the interview I conducted with Johanna Wald from the Natural Resources Defense Council for my first book, Renewable Energy–Facts and Fantasies.   Her job was (she’s since retired) to use the court system to force public and private entities to conform to laws that are in place to protect the people and the planet we call home; sounds like a great career to me.
Here we are, 12 years later, and the NRDC is still hard at work on our behalf.  They write:
Neither rain, nor sleet, nor climate catastrophe will stop the Trump-appointed leader of the U.S. Postal Service from trying to buy dirty, polluting delivery trucks.

But NRDC’s legal team can. Donate to support our lawsuit to stop the USPS from spending billions on these wasteful trucks that get as little as 8.6 miles to the gallon.
Let’s hope all this is successful.  There will never be a better candidate for conversion to electric than the fleet of Post Office trucks, because their frequent stops mean that regenerative braking will provide real value.
FWIW, this is why I stopped writing books on renewable energy, electric transportation, etc., i.e., it’s almost completely political currently.  The point I just made about regenerative braking may sound interesting, but it’s totally inconsequential when it comes to making the decision to further destroy the environment for profit, or going in the direction of sustainability and eco-stewardship.
