Marjorie Taylor Greene May Be Ridiculous, But Her Fans Can’t Get Enough

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) recently attacked President Joe Biden for supporting developing wind power on the grounds that it is not always windy outside.

From the article linked above:

“He thinks wind turbines are the way to go!” she complained. “I mean what is he going to do when it’s not a windy day? Is he going to stand out there and blow hot air at all the wind turbines? Because that’s basically what he does!”

In fact, wind turbines are just one part of a comprehensive strategy to reduce America’s fossil fuel emissions, as the recently passed Inflation Reduction Act also includes significant incentives to build out solar and nuclear energy, as well as a hastening of a transition from gas-powered to electric vehicles.

Many Americans celebrate ignorance and stupidity, and seem to enjoy ridiculing those who understand science, economics, and so forth.  This of course is infuriating to most of us, but to me it’s just like bad drivers: we do our best to stay away from them, but in the understanding that there’s nothing that can be done to remove them from society.

And characteristically, whenever there’s a demand for something, good or bad, up pops a supply.  If there’s a sudden growth in the need for low-emission vehicles (or cocaine or heroin), guess what’s going to happen.

Marjorie Taylor Greene trades in ignorance; it’s her brand, just like BMW is the ultimate driving machine.
