Right to Bear Arms

I frequently wonder about the right to “bear arms” as heralded in the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

What was the intention of the Founding Fathers when they chose those two words?  Would they have supported citizens’ right to own rocket-propelled grenades or nuclear weapons?

If they had known that had known that, 240 years later, the moron here wearing a red baseball cap would be wielding a flame thrower, what do you think they might have said?

The interesting thing is that the 2nd Ammendment was meant to enable the local people to legally have muskets — and it didn’t really spell out for what.

So of these people want to hold to “the true meaning of the 2nd. Ammendment (accouding to them) — then the only firearms they could have would be of that period.

    Every advancement would be illegal.
