No, Trump Cannot Be Disqualified (at this point) from Running in 2024

As much as I appreciate the sentiments that president hopeful Asa Hutchinson is expressing here, I would respond: If you truly care about rule of law, you need to understand that the 5th Amendment and its presumption of innocence makes it unlawful for you to deprive a person without due process.

I’ve got a flash for the person that offered this.
When you have even some of the evidense against Trump shown on live TV, along with videos of obvious law violations — which, I contend, the founding fathers never intended the 5th to be used to protect — I’m sorry — I have to differ with you.

Because the longer that he is allowed to continuously break laws , and the longer that we pretend that we have to “protect such actions” because of the 5th ammendment — what’s the point?

You will have lost the fight — on your principals — but will have lost the war when he gets elected again — and then how is the 5th, and your principals — going to protect you from him.
He’s already said that he’s going to round file the prosecutors and Justice Department.

Sometime in your principaled life — you have to deal with reality — which is — if you want to protect the 5th ammendment — put speed and teeth into protecting the rest of us from the 5th being used as a tool against itself.

Because Trump sure isn’t going to let it stand — with the MAGA Republican manifesto being published last week.
