A Note on Atheism
The meme here is just another, and equally clever way of saying, “A person who is good because he’s worrying about being sent to hell for all eternity is just a bad person on a leash.”
I didn’t write either of them, but I respect them both the same.
The two examples here — are definitiely not the same.
There is world of difference between “choosing something” and “fearing something”.
It is a matter of the person having personal “fortitude”, or “guts” to make the choice to differential beween the two.
Any coward can “fear” — because giving way to that requires no personal fortitude — while “choosing good” certainly does — every time.
That makes it a personal decision.
You don’t “choose” to “fear” — but you have to make a personal decision to “choose good”.
