Does ExxonMobil Honestly Care Where You Stand on Climate Change?

This from ExxonMobil:  What do you think? On a scale of 1 (low) to 10 (high), how important are Low Carbon Solutions to you?
A skeptical mind might ask what’s actually going on here.  Is Exxon basing its business future on what the American people think about global warming?
I doubt it.  Isn’t it more likely that they’re looking for evidence that gives them latitude to continue destroying the planet?
When I look at garbage like this, I think of all the young people who have chosen a career path that supports Big Oil in its public relations.  How pathetic that is.

  1. Scott McKie says:

I believe it was Exxon’s CEO that just doubled down on the company’s decision to increase their shale oil business in Texas by acquiring a competitor company — giving them twice as much land for future fracking / drilling as they previously owned.

At least he is honest about the direction the company is going — because he said that he was doing it — so the investors would still be making money.

As for the people (who are paid by fossil fuel companies)that spew out the stuff about fossil fuel companies working toward getting rid of climate change — by being in the shell game of buying and selling “carbon credits” — can make the claim.

But anyone that thinks that it is “all right” / dealing with the situation for one company to be paid to lower it’s carbon footprint so the paying company doesn’t have to — that’s no different than a “bait and switch” move — and that is a lie.

Don’t get me wrong — I’m working to eliminate the burning of fossil fuel for producing electricity or moving vehicles — but one needs to be truly honest and fair about this topic.
