The Union of Concerned Scientists on Hydrogen

The Union of Concerned Scientists writes: Will hydrogen be a climate solution? Not if fossil fuel interests get their way. With billions of taxpayer dollars set to flow, the Biden administration must set rigorous hydrogen standards to defend against a perpetuation of fossil fuel industry harms.
I notice that famed energy analyst Jigar Shah made a similar remark from his post in the DoE.
Frankly, I’m surprised by this.  I continue to believe that the “electrification of everything” in energy and transportation is the way to go, and that hydrogen is essentially a distraction.
The generation of hydrogen is inefficient, fuel cells are expensive, storage is difficult, and the delivery infrastructure is virtually nonexistent.

  1. Scott McKie says:

    Craig — you have defined everything here that the technology I sent you the information on — eliminates.

    But it will take you —
    1.) to read what I sent;
    2.) contact me directly if you have any questions about what is there, and;
    3.) have the fortitude to “possibly” consider forwarding the information as I requested — to the people that you know.
    It’s totally up to guys like you, with your contacts — to get the information out and replace this logjam we presently have with what we’re “trying to accomplish”.

    If the result is a big zero — then I (as a 79 year “young” – but with an increasingly physically disabled body) — will still know that I “did the best that I could do” to help slow down / stop/ and then reverse Global Warming / Climate Change.
    I won’t be here long enough to see the place “really go to hell”.

    I say this because the POD MOD technology substantiates everything you say here — and gives us the needed product to totally eliminate what we are presently doing — if we have the time left.

    It would “really irritate the Wall Street” types — as they haven’t figured out that “they can’t take it with them” – yet.

    It’s only “this rock that we all live on” that is at stake here.

    Like the old Billionaire in the movie “Contact” said “…Want to take a ride…?”

    Get the information I sent you on the POD MOD Project to the people that you know.

    Besides – you never can tell – you might just learn something that you didn’t know along the way.
