Humans Are Unique, and That’s Not Necessarily a Good Thing

Perhaps a biologist would be better qualified to answer the question at left, but I would say that none would rule.  I.e., humankind is the only species that imposes its dominance over others.

Predators kill to eat, but they don’t kill for fun.  They don’t wipe out the habitats of weaker species.  They don’t try to enrich themselves by ruining the planet.  They don’t go to war to fight over money and land.  They don’t hear voices from God that say, for instance, that the Supreme Being favors the wolverines their quest to destroy or enslave the badgers.

It’s hard not to think of Walt Whitman:
