Tornados and Climate Change

Does climate change increase the intensity of tornados?  Well, yes, if you listen to our scientists, but not according to the ultra-right-wing, anti-science Heartland Institute.

Their spokesperson (see link above) says that the media distorts the data.  OK, what’s more credible: that the media reports the scientific consensus, or that they are involved in a plot to destroy the American economy, and usher in socialism, by encouraging our government to support the clean energy technology that is being adopted around the globe?

How the Heartland Institute expects to be taken seriously has always been beyond my ken.  The billboard above was a big deal for a while a couple of decades ago.  Is this an appeal to reason, or stupidity?
