Toyota: A Company with No Integrity

As suggested below, Plug-In America co-founder and 2GreenEnergy supporter Paul Scott is pretty cheesed off at Toyota, and for good reason.   Yes, their Prius get ~50 MPG, but most of the vehicles in their fleet are gas guzzlers.  They sell roughly twice as many Tundras  (pickup trucks, shown at left, that get MPG: 13 city / 17 highway) than they do Priuses.

Worse, as indicated here, they are actively blocking efforts electrify transportation, and aligning themselves with the Big Oil-loving Republican Party.

My guess is that Toyota will ultimately fold its tent with respect to gasoline-powered vehicles, as it has no other choice.  Entire continents are starting to ban the sales of new ICE-based cars and trucks.  It would be nice if companies like Toyota had some shred of integrity, but in the absence of that, they’ll be forced to come along if they want to stay in business.

To end on a personal note, I’m very glad that neither of my children work for international corporations that are aggressively ruining the quality of life on Earth.  Examples of such include most of the energy and transportation sectors, but are certainly not limited to them; I would include soft drinks, bottled water, fast food, for-profit heath insurance, pharmaceutical companies that gouge consumers of life-saving drugs, and so many others.
