When 2GreenEnergy first came along a little over a decade ago, it appeared that ocean wave energy devices like the one shown in this video here might have a place in the constellation of renewables. (more…)

What a coincidence.  Shortly after I wrote this post: U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) Speaks on Gun Violence Prevention, I ran across this quote from U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice Warren Burger, who was around when I was a boy.

Well over 90% of Americans want to see some sort of common sense guns laws passed, at the top of the list of which is universal background checks for prospective gun owners. Yet we can’t even have a discussion on the subject of the floor of the U.S. Senate because the National Rifle Association has these people in its pockets.

It’s disgusting.

Getting money out of politics is a top priority, and good news: it’s possible that this will happen if a Bernie Sanders or an Elizabeth Warren gets to the White House in 2020.

OMG, this meme carries the precise discussion my wife and I had over breakfast this morning:

Craig: It’s raining (feces) down on Trump right now.  The end of all this insanity has to be very, very close.

Becky: It’s been raining (feces) down on Trump since before he took office.  He never quits, and his support never wanes.

Craig: We have to be very near the point when Congressional Republicans find all this untenable, and they turn on him.  Mind you, it will have absolutely nothing to do with love of country; if it did, he’d have been gone long ago.  It will be because they just can’t go on cementing a legacy for themselves as abetting a traitor.

From ABC News: President Donald Trump has been ordered by a New York State judge to pay $2 million to a group of nonprofit organizations as part of a settlement in a civil lawsuit stemming from persistent violations of state charities laws. The order stems from a New York attorney general complaint that alleged the Trump Foundation conflated charity with politics.  (more…)

The meme here is from a reader who sees fit to challenge the findings of the climate science community, and suggests that it is obviously variations in solar irradiance that govern the Earth’s climate.  (She was a fine arts major in college, FWIW).

I guess the 11,000 scientists who, just yesterday, warned us that we face a “climate emergency” never considered the sun could be a factor.  Silly, silly people.

History will regard the shocking results of the 2019 (off-year) elections in which Republicans lost control of states that had been theirs for decades as a watershed event.  As we sit in wonder as to what happened, let’s consider this:

We Americans have our faults.  (more…)

Here’s a story about Stanley Meyers’ water injector. “Stan advanced this technology all the way to water injectors which could convert any car to run on just water.  Unfortunately the same day the multi million dollar contract was signed to start building manufacturing facilities Stan was murdered. This technology was never released and so far has not been duplicated.” (more…)

For those wanting a smile, here’s a Twitter exchange begun by Ann Coulter that might do the trick.

On a serious note, the fact that traditional fire-engine-red states are turning against the Republican Party at such a wonderfully alarming rate really does seem to be changing the tenor of American politics, perhaps setting the stage for something truly marvelous.

According to what we read here: California has revised its animal rights laws and is set to become the first state in the U.S. which will ban the manufacture, sale, and purchase of the fur products of certain wild animals. It has also banned most animals for entertainment and circus performances. (more…)
