There is some truth to the meme here, but, per what we see every day out there, most of his supporters love what Trump is doing. The rabble is thrilled that he’s making America Christian white male again, while punishing the poor and the treehuggers; they think he’s (in some cases literally) a gift from God. John Paul Stevens’ retirement from the U.S. Supreme Court in 2010 was prompted by the high court’s decision in “Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission,” which freed corporations from federal limits on campaign spending, enabling them to use their immense power to influence our elections in any direction of their choosing. In his vocal dissent, Justice Stevens wrote that the decision “threatens to undermine the integrity of elected institutions across the nation.” (more…)
We are living in the midst of a revolution. Twenty years ago, the concept of renewable, alternative energy sources was just a pipe dream. We all hope that the main themes of the 20th Century’s great dystopian novels like Brave New World, 1984, A Handmaid’s Tale and so many others will not come to fruition, though there is no reason to think that they won’t, especially given that we’re coming quite close in many instances around the globe. There are people who wanted to see the fastest possible integration of wind energy into the grid-mix. There are also people who drink Budweiser. If asked, I would have said that the intersection of those two sets was fairly small.
Either I’m wrong or the folks at Anheuser Busch didn’t care, which is why they came up with the fast-paced commercial linked above. Wow.
