images (2)While driving your car to work is more or less the norm for a lot of people out there, this method has some major flaws that people are deliberately ignoring. First of all, it is probably the most expensive way to commute out there since the price of the fuel you have to pay for a day-to-day commute to work surpasses the price of any public transportation ticket out there. maxresdefault (8)As I mentioned in a post the other day, a presidential administration whose mantra is “jobs!” should not take actions whose main consequence is putting people out of work,  At the time, I was referring to the tariff on solar modules and cells that, according to industry data, will mean the end of 23,000 jobs installing and integrating solar energy. downloadPeople say that Trump is so impetuous and unpredictable that he’s impossible to deal with.  That may be true in certain cases, but certainly not in his energy policy, which is extremely consistent; it’s all about bringing back jobs in dead-end technologies, while attempting to kill their competition, i.e., renewable energy.   It’s a lucky accident that, even with all that tenacity, this is a strategy doomed to failure. asdIn this TechEra, most of the people probably upgrade their electronics very often, they usually end up buying new phones or laptops. Most of all, companies and their marketing teams spend thousands of money just to make sure that people eagerly wait to buy their next iPad, Xbox or LED Tv. While all of us are busy buying new technology stuff, have you ever thought what happens to our old stuff? (more…)

26993801_10155127625245493_6264581697649596688_nHere’s a quote from Rob Siltanen, an advertising executive who worked at TBWA/Chiat/Day, the agency that created Apple’s “Think Different” campaign. While I enjoyed it, and I hope you will too, I point out that there is nothing crazy at all about the belief that one can change the world.

In fact, it’s easier to question the sanity and moral soundness of people who see no imperative to change the reality of today’s world, i.e., that the greed of a few is destroying the environment and the quality of life for everyone else living on this planet, and all those yet to be born in the future.  If you think that’s OK, let’s just say “you have issues.”  (more…)

From there, let’s get rid of the new tax scam, from which they will save a mere $1.4 billion annually.  Given that there are still 450,000 people in Puerto Rico without power four full months after Hurricane Maria, I’m guessing that the money could be put to good use.

woman-entepreneurSilent, tasteless, odorless, and colorless: these words describe radon gas. At one point in time relatively few knew about this harmful substance and even less understood how they could be at risk of exposure. In modern times, society has developed test kits to reveal this elusive substance and subsequently guard against it. However, it is not just radon gas that requires society’s attention. Exceptional air quality must be emphasized as a guarantee in any workplace. (more…)

38477929It’s hard to think of a more enviable career than photographer for the 130-year-old National Geographic, published continuously since its first issue in 1888, consisting largely of articles about science, geography, history, and world culture.  Imagine being paid to have experiences of sublime beauty–all around the globe.

Such a position doesn’t some without its sad moments, however; imagine covering elephant poaching, or, in this case, the melting of the Arctic.  I hope you’ll check out this incredible video.
