Last month, the Oversight Board upheld Facebook’s suspension of former US President Donald Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts following his praise for people engaged in violence at the Capitol on January 6. But in doing so, the board criticized the open-ended nature of the suspension, stating that “it was not appropriate for Facebook to impose the indeterminate and standardless penalty of indefinite suspension.” The board instructed us to review the decision and respond in a way that is clear and proportionate, and made a number of recommendations on how to improve our policies and processes. There are times in life when the point being made here is 100% apt. It applies very nicely to beliefs: religion, art, philosophy, even the political positions that had existed until recently.
The political divide that characterizes today’s America is largely about cruelty and hate.

A few days ago, a judge refused to let the insurrectionists under his charge out on bail, citing the danger to society they represent. He pointed out that Trump is still maintaining that he won the election, and these morons have already shown that a) they believe it, and b) they’re willing to commit violent crimes as a tool to have the election overturned.
Oh, come on. Does this look like the face of a “dumbass” with his white power symbol? (Just kidding)
As Bill McKibben notes here, it really hasn’t been a good couple of days for Big Oil.
Is this an extreme view, kind of a left-wing conspiracy theory?
Apparently, I’m not the only one who was outraged that a retired general could call for a military coup against the United States and not be immediately arrested. I suggested Michael Flynn’s arrest in my recent post: 
I recently learned that a friend’s family owns a great deal of land on one of the Pacific islands owned by the U.S. that includes a huge reservoir of water high in the mountains. I asked, “Don’t you folks pay a fortune for electricity, and isn’t it dirtier than hell, probably imported bunker diesel? Wouldn’t some renewable energy solution be very valuable?” Yes, yes, and yes.
