Exactly.

As I explain to my mother, “I, Craig, your son, am Antifa when I do my writing and protest in the streets.  Your husband was Antifa when he was bombing German oil refineries in the 40s. It wasn’t called that then, but it is now.

“And yes, there are people looting grocery stores.  They’re called ‘looters.'”

According to the reports we read, we expect to see a few things happen as we approach the election:

• Russia is in the process of doing its best, through whatever means, to discredit Biden.

• In democratic-dominated regions of swing states, we’ll see various voter suppression techniques like mailbox removal.

• In those same regions, we’ll see dirty tricks, like “polls closed” or “detour” signs near polling places. (more…)

Here’s something that Ronna McDaniel, Chairperson of the Republican National Committee said the other day, capping it off with, “You can run, Joe, but you can’t hide.”

What exactly is she saying, and who’s she talking to?  How many people are so stupid as to believe that an ordinary citizen has any power to implement pandemic policies?  My gardener has just as much authority.  Everybody knows that.

There was a time not too long ago that making idiotic statements caused embarrassment.  Guess those days are gone.

From this article (includes video):

On his show this Wednesday, Glenn Beck railed against journalists, saying that they’re inherently untrustworthy.  “If you have a degree from any school of journalism, I don’t trust you. You have lied over, and over, and over, and over again. You are pointing everyone’s direction in the wrong direction.”  Beck then echoed President Trump’s critiques of the media, saying, “You are an enemy to mankind.” (more…)

Perhaps four years ago would have been a better time to make this point, but isn’t it amazing how this guy just spews out bald-faced lies?

If I wanted to say I got an A in quantum mechanics when I took it in college 45 years ago (which I didn’t), you’d have a very hard time proving that I fibbed.  But if I said that Colorado is east of Kansas, that wouldn’t take too much work.

Perhaps the single most disturbing element of the Trump presidency is that he is still there, four years and 22,000+ blatant lies later, the most powerful person on Earth.  He’s a pathological liar, and we simply don’t care.

Another point to be made here, of course, is that Trump has nothing but disdain for everyone who happens to live in a state that didn’t vote for him.  As a human being, he’s an abomination.

Opponents of the Green New Deal says it’s too expensive.

Proponents ask, “Compared to what?” and then go on to offer a laundry list of costs associated with a dying planet, as well as the benefits of a strong economy based on all the jobs that will accrue as a result–jobs in renewable energy, efficiency solutions, energy storage, land management, smart-grid, electric transportation, energy and transportation infrastructure, etc.  (more…)

Some of these posts can be wordy. This one isn’t. In fact, I only have one remark to make, and I’m not really the one making it:

As we will see here, Trump has kept the most important promises (explicit or implicit) that he made to the people who voted for him.  An interesting question, though, is: Is the country better and stronger as a result?

Here’s what he’s made good on:

• Issuing massive tax cuts.  Sure, the rank and file received almost nothing, and the ballooning national debt has to be paid by taxes imposed on our children, but he never actually said who the actual winners and losers would be. The ultra-rich are very happy. (more…)

No sooner was it clear that Trump had come to be taken seriously on the U.S. political stage that people started to rack their brains: how is this even remotely possible?  Supremely vulgar, ignorant, and blatantly dishonest, what was his appeal?

Apparently, the common American was convinced that Trump would protect their jobs from illegal immigration, remove the bloat of big government, and break the yoke of crooked bankers–and that these actions collectively would propel the working class into a new level of affluence. (more…)

There are so many things about 21st Century America that make it unique among Earth’s nations: our ignorance and rejection of science, our thirst to move race relations back 50 years, our disregard for the welfare of our fellow citizens, and our disengagement with the rest of the world when it comes to environmental responsibility, to name just a few.

As suggested in the photo here, it’s possible that there is a common thread beneath that, i.e., the sheer aggression with which we’ve destroyed our educational system, requiring warning signs like this one.
