Trump on Renewables, Energy Efficiency

Trump on Renewables, Energy EfficiencyCounter-intuitive as it may be, President Trump (wow, it hurts to even type that) may provide an opportunity for renewable energy.  For one, his energy plans (other than lifting restrictions on fossil fuel extraction) are very vague; it is believed that if we get to him soon, there may be an opportunity.  Second, he’s not beholden to big money, e.g., Big Oil. Unlike the political establishment, he’s at liberty to do what he thinks is right.

Obviously, we need to be more than a little alarmed about his doing what “he thinks is right”–and he’s already begun to surround himself with the wrong people.  In fact, he’s chosen a top climate denier to lead the transition in the EPA, and it’s hard to imagine that this means anything else than a reckless disregard for the environment.

Having said that, who knows?

  1. Frank R. Eggers says:

Our current energy plans fall so far short of what is required that I doubt that whatever destructive actions Trump makes will matter very much.

Trump may be a psychopath. However, if psychopaths believe that it is in their best interests to do the right thing, they will do it. That’s why many of them get through life doing less damage that one might expect and can even be constructive.

I am not so concerned by Trump as I am by who he may appoint to various positions. I expect he will delegate many functions and essentially be the mouthpiece. He would be wise to appoint with some diversity, but that presumes something not so much in evidence at this point. I can’t imagine how someone would even begin to get past those who surround him already. But I do think you have the right idea.

Frank Eggers is one of the rare few that actually understands global greenhouse gas issues, global climate change issues and most importantly the global energy generation technology science required for all nations to move forward into an enduring “clean safe and abundant cost effective energy” era for all people.

His vision extends beyond California, Texas or Florida. His vision encompasses Nigerians, Maltese, Italian, Samoan, Polish, American etc etc, in other words, all peoples.

We need more visionaries like Frank to add a good dose of reality, reliability and consistency to the global energy debate.

Craig you are all over the shop from one posting to the next.
