What Happens in Henderson (Kentucky) Doesn’t Stay in Henderson

ky-henderson-county-kentucky-1905-map…. when that something is the closing of another coal-fired power plant.  In this case, the results are better health for all citizens of Earth.

Maintenance costs, compounded by a glut of natural gas and increasingly cheap renewable energy resources are pushing plants like Henderson’s into retirement.

Remember: the forces of pure market economics will eventually push fossil fuels out of existence.  The only question is how much damage we will have done to our environment in the process.  The answer: No one knows.

“Remember: the forces of pure market economics will eventually push fossil fuels out of existence”.

Kinda strangely illogical sentence when the reasoning is one fossil fuel will replace another!

As the glut of natural gas dwindles and demand increases, prices will rise and Coal generation, utilizing Clean(er) Coal Technology will begin to be rebuilt.
