Trump Mystifies

46076593_2131812420214583_3685751572614086656_nConcerns over President Trump’s mental health have waxed and waned over his term in office.  At times he appears extremely consistent in his demagoguery as well as his wanton destruction of American values (like honesty and decency) and institutions (like democracy).  Over the past two years, this is made for some real gnashing of teeth: is he evil, crazy, or both?

The question resurfaced in a big way in the past few days, with Trump’s infuriating America’s veterans.  Think about how irrational this is.  Want to upset environmentalists with some asinine and corrupt plan to subsidize coal or drill in the arctic?  That’s disgusting, but, considering Trump’s level of support from people like me is < 0.001%, it makes some level of sense.  He really isn’t making any new enemies; perhaps he’s even empowering his base, as they take great joy in hearing progressives moan.

But veterans?  That’s some really imbecilic stuff there, sir.  Is this a cry for help, like a suicide attempt?

Who’s next?  Better question: Who’s left?   Next week, will you be dishonoring Jesus and Fox News?

    Craig,

No, Trump is not “dishonoring Veterans”, he’s simply complaining about the chaotic conduct of the vote counting system in some states.

He’s not alone in this complaint, both Democrat and GOP candidates have complained about the incompetence of election officials and the myriad of irregularities.

This gives the impression of bias or fraud (on both sides)when in fact it’s more likely to be just evidence of a purely conducted election process.

The President’s tweets are unhelpful, but he’s just expressing frustration with a poorly organized system, he had no intention of insulting military personnel.

it’s also important to remember former general Wesley Clark has seized on the fact that many of the late ballots came from military personnel, and used that information to score points against his political rivals, by unfairly claiming the President is anti-military.. (Wesley Clark is a Democrat and a former Democrat candidate).
