Bizarre Viewpoints on Science

46751200_10156890567233288_410897532638461952_nVery few people ignore scientists when they tell us to evacuate in front of a hurricane, or not to eat Romaine lettuce, or to take a certain medicine to cure a horrible disease.  But some of these same people are more comfortable believing Donald Trump on global warming than they are an enormous panel of climate scientists.

Is science always right?  Of course not, which is why there are constant improvements, and occasional paradigm shifts.  Is there some level of corruption?  Absolutely.  Anyone who believes the U.S. pharmaceutical industry operates without bribery is an idiot.  Yet we need to keep this in perspective.  Ask yourself: who has more motivation to lie about climate change: a few thousand university professors who want grant money, or the $150 billion oil industry that has admitted to funding numerous client change disinformation campaigns.

The meme above puts this in a vaguely humorous light.  In truth, there are constant reminders of how amazed we ought to be with the developments made by the scientific community.

    Craig,

Why on earth would the oil industry fund a campaign against scientific research into global warming?

Let’s face facts, here you are an ardent advocate of hatred against the oil industry, yet you still persist in buying gasoline!

The oil industry is a commercialize enterprise,it survives on supply and demand. The industry sells of the oil products it can produce, and will continue to do so while demand exists which doesn’t appear to be occurring and time in the near future.

Nor is the industry overly concerned about and decline in energy products. The Petro-Chemical industry is far profitable and indispensable, with must lower overhead.

Inventing enemies to tilt at, is very Quixotic but kinda pointless.
