American Life: Bizarre and Frustrating

maxresdefault (10)American life in 2019 is steeped in frustration.  We all want a better country and an improved quality of life, but we have an incredible divergence of perceptions as to what our real problems are and how to solve them.

Russians who were linked to interference in the 2016 U.S. election discussed ambitious plans to stoke unrest and even violence inside the U.S. as recently as 2018, according to documents reviewed by NBC News–but the Senate Majority Leader is doing everything in his power to block legislation that would protect our electoral processes from the Russians.

The pastor of First Baptist Church in Dallas attempted to refute all criticism of Trump on the grounds of his being a pro-Christian president. He said, “I don’t know any policy the president has that is non-Christian.” The pastor also called Trump, “the most pro-Christian president that we’ve had in history.”

Americans desperately want to do the right thing, but we’re horribly logic-impaired.  We’d love to see our issues go away, but if this is the best thinking of which we’re capable, it’s hard to imagine a renaissance here.
