How To Finalize an Impeachment

Here’s a hypothetical conversation between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and me.

Craig Shields: Hello, Mr. Zelensky, I’m Craig Shields, American author and businessperson, and I thank you for taking my call.  Is it OK if I record our talk?

Volodymyr Zelensky: Sure.

CS: Great.  I’m sure you’re aware that our president, Donald Trump is currently under impeachment proceedings, and that he will be removed from office and replaced immediately if he is found guilty of a crime, or anything, criminal or not, that is a violation of his oath to uphold our Constitution.

I have one very quick question for you.  What was your take-away from your call with President Trump on July 25th of this year; i.e., did he make you an offer, and if so, what language did he use to communicate it?

VZ: He made it very clear that, if I wanted him to release the $391 million in military aid to hold off the Russians, and visit him at the White House, I would need to make a public statement to the effect that I had ordered an investigation into Joe Biden and his son.
