Europe’s “Green New Deal,” “Man on the Moon,” Call It What You Will

“This is Europe’s man on the moon moment,” European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen told reporters in Brussels before detailing the plans. “I’m convinced that the old growth model that is based on fossil fuels and pollution is out of date and out of touch with our planet.”

Wish I had a dollar for every time I’ve written or pronounced these words: Perhaps the biggest error the United States is making at this point is its unwillingness to participate in cleantech, the industry that is destined to define the 21st Century.

Instead, we’re propping up coal and lowering our automobile CAFE (fuel efficiency) standards, while we’re building munitions.
