For those keeping score, 330+ U.S. coal-fired power plants were put out of operation between 2005 and 2016, saving the lives of an estimated 26K people. Cause of coal plants’ demise? Glut of cheap natural gas, plummeting prices of solar and wind.

No “lives were saved” ! All the Obama “war on coal” did was lose American jobs, further cripple the economy and embolden the Peoples Republic of China.
The brilliant but expensively developed US ‘clean coal technology’, capable of transforming a previously pollutant energy source into the only emission positive power source suddenly found a lack of US investment and moved off-shore to China and India.
Instead, the US turned to another fossil fuel, natural Gas, and became for less energy competitive with China, India.
But, what the hey, all long as Senator Fienstien’s husband can make hundred’s of millions selling US technology to China at the US taxpayer’s expense, all must be well.
