56533756_3194713927206230_5939594386277924864_nThe author of the meme here has accurately summed up the biggest problem facing our civilization: the frailty of poor thinking.  We have a horrific inability to question anything that undermines what we want to believe, when these beliefs are underpinned with emotion.  (more…)

GettyImages-583811594-1544227654-e1544227739456A year or two after the launch of 2GreenEnergy in the summer of 2009, I got an unexpected phone call from a guy who said, “Hello, Craig.  You don’t know me, but I’m — (I can’t recall his name), an energy investor in South Carolina.  Your name has come up twice to me today.  (more…)

56505429_10219325390394441_4078898924541181952_nVery few people are “on the fence” about the legitimacy of the Trump administration, and this, of course, is happening by Trump’s design, as he thrives on outrage.  His supporters are outraged that their president is under attack from the Fake News, the U.S. intelligence community and the liberal elite, given that their man is in the process of Making America Great Again, restoring Christian values, protecting us from leftists who have their panties in a twist about the climate change hoax, standing up for the white race, halting the scourge of socialism, stemming the infestation of vermin crossing the southern border, and draining the swamp in Washington.  (more…)

maria-puerto-rico-damage-flooding_hector-retamala-afp-gettyA couple of days ago, I quoted someone who took umbrage at the Trump administration’s disdain for Puerto Rico and the appalling lack of compassion it showed for the 3000 people who died as a result of the fifteenth-rate response to the hurricanes that struck the island in 2017.  He wrote: (more…)

FIG 2 WIND TURBINES IN IAAs the author here points out, the generation of electricity in the U.S. has changed, and it does vary widely on a state-to-state basis, which is both a blessing and a curse.

If you are in Iowa, it doesn’t take much effort to convert a huge percentage of your capacity from coal to wind; in the Pacific Northwest, you have hydro resources coming out your ears.  States in the southeast, however, aren’t as lucky.  This is why we’re faced with a few tough realities: (more…)

flat-screen-tv-laptopAs a guy who writes marketing materials for a living, I understand that if I fail to gain the reader’s attention, it doesn’t matter what I say because it’s going to remain invisible. Yet it’s just as bad, and possibly worse, to irritate the reader with outrageous assertions that insult the intelligence. (more…)

photo_verybig_186659As readers are aware, I very seldom respond to frequent commenter MarcoPolo, as he is a professional troll of this and other environmentalist sites, and I don’t think it’s right to provide a place for his antagonistic and generally inaccurate views on the entire environmental movement. Here’s a rare exception, since it enables me to make a point. (more…)

arctic-presence-orlan-platform_70800Given the aggression with which the Trump administration is both rolling back environmental protection and killing anything whatsoever that came from the Obama era, it’s easy to assume that the damage they’re wreaking is going unchecked.  Fortunately, that’s not the case, as we learned last week, when a third federal judge declared that President Trump’s order revoking a sweeping ban on oil and gas drilling in the Arctic and Atlantic oceans is illegal.  It appears that 128 million acres of federal waters will remain off limits to energy exploration.

image_1506096311-f4effbfa32Here’s something a gentleman by the name of Eleazar David Melendez wrote, expressing how and why he believes Puerto Rico’s death toll of about 3,000 from Hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017 ought to be the biggest strike against President Donald Trump.  If you know someone who writes with more power and conviction, I hope you’ll make an introduction.   (more…)

It’s ironic that the next new thing in transportation is the removal of the driver while preserving everything else, since this  accomplishes very little of what we actually need, i.e., the means of moving our bodies and our stuff around without simultaneously moving around 4000 pounds of steel.  (more…)
