The Penalties of Stupidity Were Once Confined to the Stupid–Tales from Our Past
When I was a small boy, my mother would take me food shopping with her, and I recall very well my first encounters with tabloids like the one shown here. I couldn’t understand for the life of me how anyone could be entertained by this type of pure stupidity.
Sixty years later things have changed, but not for the better. Now we have people who actually believe things as improbable as “bat children” or Elvis sightings. And worse, their beliefs are no longer benign; they have powerfully harmful effects on everyone else on the planet. (more…)
I thought I’d share this, since it made me smile.
Millions of progressive Americans were saddened to see that, overnight, CNN became essentially another Fox News, sniping at Biden at every opportunity, and casting doubt as to the integrity of the Justice Department in its dealings with the former president.
The cultural sensibilities of the state of Texas are unique, and this photo offers a good example of how that is.
The years that Jimmy Carter led our country were four of only a couple of dozen in its history when the United States wasn’t at war somewhere around the globe.

Folks wanting to learn more about the day-to-day news on the investigation into Trump’s criminality, at least as far as it’s provided by Fox News, need to somehow believe that U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland hasn’t the slightest iota of honor within him.
Yes, it’s a bizarre tale, but it’s one about a guy whose career was anything but strange until its very end. Fauci had devoted himself to public health, and gave us 50 years, his entire adult life, using the best of his knowledge base to keep Americans safe from epidemic diseases.
