Maybe it’s time for misleading claims like this to stop. That solar array will generate about 400 Watts (about 1/2 HP) in full sun. That’s the power of the motor in your garbage disposal, 1/100th of the power necessary to maintain highway speed.

Like so many presentations on cleantech products and services, this video on the Harmony VAWT starts with some important points about environmental stewardship. No one doubts that supplying energy for use in residential, commercial, and industrial settings is one hell of a problem, and that the wind industry isn’t perfect.   It’s when we get into the solutions that we run into trouble. Here’s a cool video in which a fish explains the threat to his class of vertebrates posed by warming oceans.

Of the numerous consistencies to Donald Trump’s activities as U.S. President, among the clearest is outrageous behavior.  It’s as if, each day, he asks himself, “What can I do in the next hour or so that will be so appalling as to capture the world’s attention, and distract attention from what I did yesterday?” (more…)

The claim in the meme here is that everyone will have a better quality of life if this country shifts in the direction of democratic socialism.  If that were the case, we’d already be there.  The problem is that this isn’t true.

Here is a list of groups of those who will come out far behind, with a guess as to what percentage of American voters they apply to: (more…)
