Most of us are decent and kind people, yet we live in a society that increasingly takes a joke like this and turns it into real life:

There are two people in a wood, and they run into a bear. The first person gets down on his knees to pray; the second person starts lacing up his boots. The first person asks the second person, “My dear friend, what are you doing? You can’t outrun a bear.” To which the second person responds, “I don’t have to. I only have to outrun you.” (more…)

This strikes me as close, but somewhat inaccurate.

The meme here comes from actor/comedian John Fugelsang.  I have bad news, John: Trump’s approval rating has fallen slightly, but not significantly; it’s still a robust 42.4% as of today.

Apparently, the same people who are turned on by his lies, racism, cruelty, criminality, ruining the environment, etc. also believe his response to the coronavirus is competent and well managed.

You can’t make this stuff up.

Biden is a garden-variety neoliberal, just like every president who’s come before him since 1980 (with a few variations on the theme).  His competitor is a sociopath, one that, fortunately, has no precedent in U.S. history. Behind the lies and the propaganda, he’s done nothing for this country other than to destroy it. (more…)
