A surprise to no one, the Trump White House has successfully put a spear through the major tax credits for renewable energy and electric transportation; the sole survivor here was a short extension of the PTC (production tax credit) for wind. (more…)

Many of us know people who wish someone would kill Trump.  I hear this constantly from people, ranging from fairly sophisticated folks from my college days and 2GreenEnergy colleagues to total morons.

Some of them are hoping that the U.S. military, an organization of generally honorable people and one that clearly considers the president a threat to national security, will take him out. (more…)

ROTTERDAM, NETHERLANDS

Why are these Dutch girls so happy?  In truth, they’re probably celebrating their victory in the women’s World Cup soccer championship this year, but it actually might have been their absolute delight with the landmark ruling that just came down from the Netherlands high court. (more…)

How can anyone not be terrified by behavior like this?

He’s powerless to prevent himself from taking a swing at anyone who criticizes him, regardless of how central they are to his ability to hold on to what’s left of his presidency.  Punishing “enemies” comes ahead of self-preservation.  What does this suggest about his sanity? (more…)

From Reuters in London:

Almost 400 scientists have endorsed a civil disobedience campaign aimed at forcing governments to take rapid action to tackle climate change, warning that failure could inflict “incalculable human suffering.” In a joint declaration, climate scientists, physicists, biologists, engineers and others from at least 20 countries broke with the caution traditionally associated with academia to side with peaceful protesters courting arrest from Amsterdam to Melbourne. The pic of the peas here inspires both laughter and terror.  Yes, it could be part of the endless “you had one job” series, and that’s always good for a smile.

More seriously, it’s a reminder of what needs to change if young Americans are going to be successful in the workplace of the 2020s and into the foreseeable future. Here are a few areas to address: (more…)

Really?  Are you saying that trickle-down economics (aka voodoo economics) has failed?  Just like it did every time and everywhere else it’s been foisted off onto an unwitting public? That’s just astounding.

Just as bad, it will continue to be implemented wherever billionaires control the government.  News flash: these people know goddamn well it doesn’t work for the good of the country; it works for them, and that’s all that matters.

Question:  Part of what makes Tesla so successful is their vast network of super-charging stations.  What record did they just break in terms of numbers?  (Hint: It’s a multiple of 5,000.)

Answer: Can be found at Clean Energy Answers.

Relevance: Once every element of inconvenience and range anxiety is removed, look for the EV market to really take off.

Everyone has an opinion on Trump’s impeachment, and one of the most I’ve come across is: Why only two articles?  What about obstruction of justice more generally (ten points of which are contained in the Mueller Report)?  What about violations of the emoluments clause of the Constitution (of which there have been hundreds). How about violations of campaign finance law or breach of fiduciary duties related to a charitable organization?

I’m most concerned about what’s suggested in the meme above, though I wouldn’t know the exact name of the crime.  Doesn’t Trump have an obligation to protect the health and safety of the American people?  Doesn’t deliberating poisoning our air and water for the benefit of the coal barons violate something very specific in the criminal code?
