As Horrific As Trump Is, Things Actually Could Be Worse

From the Boston Globe: The Texas lawsuit asking the US Supreme Court to invalidate Joe Biden’s victory has quickly become a conservative litmus test, as 106 members of Congress and multiple state attorneys general signed onto the case even as some have predicted it will fail.

Readers remark:
It’s not a “Conservative” litmus test; it’s a “Pro-Dictatorship” litmus test.
and
Litmus test? It is sedition, period. They should be expelled.
Exactly. That’s the only way to look at  this if we are being honest.  What sort of patriotic American would overturn an election in which six weeks of audits, recounts, and challenges have identified no discernable abnormalities, a fact attested to by the U.S. Attorney General?  Extreme conservatives may think Biden is too liberal, but would they rather live in a banana republic utterly devoid of rule of  law?
This, btw, is how I answer people who say they want the U.S. military to remove Trump by force, i.e., you don’t want to live in a country where rule of law doesn’t mean anything.  As horrific it is to have a sociopath in power, it’s even worse to destroy the only mechanism we have to remove all future sociopaths.
