Louisiana GOP Senator Bill Cassidy Doesn’t Seem to Concern Himself with the Rate at which Black Mothers Die

A couple of responses:
There is a difference about disagreeing on matters of opinion vs. issues of basic morality. Good people are not friendly with racists, bullies, authoritarians, criminals, pathological liars, etc.
“Hate” is a strong word; it’s one that doesn’t apply well to truly kind and enlightened people, characteristics that most of us aspire to have. Thus the phrase, “Hate the sin; love the sinner.” In many cases, I feel sorry for mean and ignorant people. That’s not a pleasant way to go through life.

All I’ll say about this is that it clearly was not the viewpoint of the Founding Fathers.

If my wife and I were younger, and not attached to our kids, we’d be thinking about packing our stuff and heading to a place that isn’t criminally insane.

In places like Texas, intelligence, or even sanity, is not a key criterion to political success. Rather, it’s all about how strongly one hates the correct people: immigrants, woman who want exceptions to the total ban on abortion, Democrats, and those seeking justice in the coup attempt.

Let’s add a dash of optimism and say, “…..the sun will be setting unless decent people commit to ensuring that it doesn’t.”

• Coming for your guns.
• Taking away your freedoms by forcing you to wear a mask.
• Teaching your children about racism.
• Rigging the elections in favor of socialists.
• Grooming your kids to be gay.
• Opening our borders.
• Defying Putin in Ukraine.
• Re-establishing decent public educational standards.
• Enabling private social media companies to enforce terms of use re: malicious lies.
• Using tax dollars to mitigate climate change.
The list is endless; please, feel free to add anything you like.

I would say that anyone who supports Trump and is endeavoring to restore his voice to U.S. politics is a terrible human being, and that’s true regardless of what the “libs” are doing.
But now, throw in the fact that he has $200 billion. Imagine that you could end world hunger or homelessness or climate change, but you decide that your contribution is going to be making Donald Trump a permanent fixture in our lives. It doesn’t get any scummier than that.
