I think longingly about the days before I retired from my career as a marketing consultant, which were punctuated by numerous trips to great business centers abroad: Berlin, Frankfurt, Warsaw, Geneva, Zurich, Paris, Tokyo, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, and the spot featured here, London. (more…)

As a result of the pandemic quarantine, alcohol consumption is going through the roof, as people are bored and lonely, and yes, there will be repercussions to our physical and mental health accordingly.

Of course, the photo here could also be Trump’s sentencing hearing. Speaking for myself, if I had to, I would ride my bicycle from my home in California to Washington DC, or New York, or wherever the action is when Trump goes down.

The epicenter of the global party will be the U.S., but people around the world will be dancing in the streets; it will be unlike anything humankind has ever seen.

The cost-benefit analyses of offshore wind projects differ from those of their on-shore cousins, in that the installation of each turbine is a far bigger component of the total cost.  For that reason, bigger is always better, and this is what is propelling these things to grow in size as quickly as possible. I don’t know who “Big Daddy Wickster” is, but a) I like his name, and b) he’s a better man than I.  It’s true Trump has accentuated my own (and millions of others’) capacity to hate, but mine had been in place since long before Trump became a public figure.

I can’t give this piece on the world’s population enough praise. 200,000 years was required to grow the number to one billion.  In the last 200 years, it increased to 7.8 billion.

What does that mean in terms of consumption of resources?  Pollution control?  Please check it out.  (more…)

I began a recent post Eric Trump Appeared on Fox News–Like There Was an Alternative? with this:  Eric Trump suggested on Fox News Saturday that Democrats are “milking” coronavirus lockdowns in order to “deprive” his father President Trump of campaign rallies and hurt him in November’s election. Please take a few seconds and watch this short but extraordinary video featuring a bear and a road cone.  Then ask yourself how it’s possible that such an animal can act with more kindness and generosity than thousands upon thousands of human beings, unwilling to endure a bit of inconvenience in order to protect the health and safety of an entire population.

Many people living outside the U.S. borders are trying to understand what has gone so terribly wrong with America.  The photo here may serve as a clue.

Yes, there are ass****s all over the world, so we haven’t yet cornered the market, but we really do seem to be trying.
