Reader Markus Dirnbacher asks, Sustainable hydrogen – amongst all currently available technologies- will be the only possibility for long term storage of power! Do you agree?
No, this is extremely unlikely to happen. Batteries are making great progress, and synthetic fuels are under development. Making hydrogen is expensive and inefficient, and the delivery infrastructure is almost completely nonexistent.
Life is sad here in these United States right now, and for so many reasons.
Can you imagine being the guy handcuffing the nun? What must he be thinking: “A woman of God has traveled a long way in a desperate attempt to alleviate the suffering of innocent children, and I’m locking her in jail to punish her, and to prevent her from succeeding in her mission.” Ouch, that must hurt.
I know there is a lot of love and compassion being exchanged between many millions of Americans right now, but sometimes it’s hard to keep that in mind.
In the midst of a global pandemic, Trump’s EPA Administrator — Andrew Wheeler — has feverishly ramped up his work to weaken regulations that protect us from air pollution. This would be terrible under any circumstance. But now, they are indecent. They defy the norms of reasonable behavior.(more…)

Below is a link to a short but extremely well-done video from WBUR FM, which is Boston’s National Public Radio affiliate and the producer of massive amounts of content that we hear and see on a daily basis. Here, climate activist Frederick Hewett does a great job at explaining what climate-driven storm flooding is in the process of doing to the previously predictable and life-giving rivers.
“What we have is precious and it’s also vulnerable,” Hewett says. “We have to face the reality of climate change because it doesn’t show itself in our lives every day. But it is very much there. It is very real.”
It’s understandable that the Democrats are unhappy with Trump’s stonewalling Congress and telling the Supreme Court who can be investigated and who can’t. But the Republicans? Check out this TV ad, and note that its tone, while serious, is entirely civil. (more…)
The problem with the analogy here is that while those who don’t wear seat belts endanger only themselves, those who don’t wear masks endanger largely other, innocent people.
If this weren’t the case, I’m sure most people would actually encourage the stay-at-home protestors, and let natural selection take our entire civilization to a higher level.
