A reader sent me the meme here and writes: Seems like a repeat of 2016. Not sure why folks think there will be a different outcome.

Amee, I understand that you’re upset, but I want to point out that it wasn’t “for nothing.” 83% of his enormous tax breaks went to making rich people richer.

News flash: rich people like that.  They adore that, and donate large sums of money to support anyone or anything that promises to keep this flow of cash coming.

This is what’s called corruption.  We live in a country that, as Jimmy Carter said recently, features “unlimited political corruption.” Money that could be going into infrastructure, healthcare, environmental protection, or education is lining the pockets of the uber-wealthy.

We are fortunate in that the opinion Barbra Streisand ( first and last name misspelled at left) represents the vast majority of American actors.

Background for those living outside the U.S., from Wikipedia:

Sanctuary cities refers to municipal jurisdictions, typically in North America, that limit their cooperation with the national government’s effort to enforce immigration law. Leaders of sanctuary cities say they want to reduce fear of deportation and possible family break-up among people who are in the country illegally, so that such people will be more willing to report crimes, use health and social services, and enroll their children in school.
