This “stirs controversy?” Ya think?
To provide readers insight into the area where 2GreenEnergy “headquarters” is located: this is the type of thing one would find in the city of Santa Barbara, where more people were gored by unicorns in 2016 than voted for Trump. Where we are, 30 minutes away in God’s country (Santa Ynez), it’s the opposite. You’d get a rock thrown through your window faster than you could spit.
The future of nuclear energy will follow one of two paths. When we say “advanced nuclear,” we’re normally talking about fission, the decay of large atoms into smaller ones. Because the products have less mass than the reactants, an enormous amount of energy is released, due to the world’s most famous equation. In general, the world of politics is headed in a highly toxic direction. Pretty much wherever we look we see ever-growing demagoguery, racism, divisiveness, corruption/bribery, nepotism, impeachment, coups, construction of walls, trade wars, cruelty to asylum seekers (hitting children hardest), senators overtly refusing to uphold their oaths of office, voter suppression/sham elections, suppression of the free press, denial of science, demonization of (and punishment of) the poor, destruction of organized labor, unchecked gun violence (U.S. only), complete indifference to the will of the people, favors to wealthy donors, foreign entities controlling elections, re-insertion of religion into government, and unrepentant ruination of the planet. At left we have a reminder that, in many cases, outrage works.
Regardless of how vicious a certain person, he probably isn’t immune to sheer fury that the world can present him with.
This is the reason I keep up my membership with Amnesty International. I don’t have the bandwidth to put pressure on the perpetrator of every crime against humanity going on around the globe; that’s what I pay them to do on my behalf.
As shown below, there are approximately one billion people living without access to electricity. That means no refrigeration, poor water quality, poor healthcare, and poor education. In turn, that means a vicious cycle of disease and poverty.
As with all tragedies, therein lies an opportunity. In this case, that’s microgrids powered by renewable energy, or, in other words, the possibility of bypassing fossil fuels altogether.
