According to the honest people who have been to the southern border, there is no ” invasion.” It’s not an “infestation.” Trump’s tweet here is nothing other than an attempt to a) scare Trump’s supporters into continuing to back him, and b) distract people from the real events of the day–especially the fact that Trump is under legal attack from a dozen different directions simultaneously. The validity of the theory of anthropogenic global warming is undeniable, though this doesn’t mean that scientists have an airtight grip on every aspect of what exactly is happening here on Planet Earth. Here’s a good example: a report that was released just a few days ago presents the fact that 90% of the heat energy absorbed into the Earth’s surface has gone into the oceans, with only 10% going into the atmosphere. Question: What country just became the world’s first to reduce VMT with free public transportation?
It is understandable that this tweet, like all the others, is an attempt on Trump’s part to play to his base, but this is so inane and mean-spirited that it’s hard to believe that base is on board with the type of thinking and behavior that it represents. Apparently, he simply wants to dominate the news cycle so completely that he’ll do or say anything to make that happen.
